Occupation: I am a designer/creator of designer bedding called Little Merry Fellows and the proprietor of the Little Green Barn since 2001. I am also Market Master of the Sandy Hook Organic Farmers Market.

How Long Have You Lived In Newtown: We moved up here from Florida in 1972.

Biggest Change You Have Seen In Town: Definitely the Sandy Hook area compared to what it was in the 70s. Now you can buy gourmet coffee at the old Laundromat, eat a filet at Warner’s store, you can buy Opus One at Sandy Hooks Wine and Spirits, and an organic mattress at the old post office.

Family: I have a daughter, Cleo, who will be a fourth grader at Sandy Hook, and my husband John Conk; we’ve been together since 1990.

Pets: We have a hermit crab named Tiger, a cockatiel named Sydney, two Yorkshire terriers named Spike and Coco, and 17 hens who all have rock and roll names like Mary J, Missy Elliot, Christina and Britney. We have one rooster named Bono; he takes care of the flock and is a real caregiver.

Hobbies: I don’t really have any hobbies. I’m fortunate in that everything I do in my work is what I like to do. I would love to garden if I had the time. We have 12 acres and we haven’t dug a spoonful of dirt on it yet.

Favorite Music and Books: I love all music, as long as it has no negativity. I read a lot of things. I love biographies. I can recommend two: His Excellency by Joseph Ellis, which is about George Washington, and The Remarkable Huntingtons by Mary Mitchell and Al Goodrich. I think it would make a great screen play.

Favorite TV Show: I am a random television watcher; however my daughter and I watch a show that my brother writes called Ned’s Declassification School Survival Guide, which is loosely based on Newtown Middle School and one of the characters is based on retired teacher John Vouros.

Organizations: Of course St John’s Church. I am a member of IATSE Local 52, a theatrical movie union. I was on the Sandy Hook Streetscape Committee.

Most Vivid Memory of Newtown: The first year we moved here I remember going trick or treating. The houses were so far apart. It seemed like we walked for miles between them and all you got was an apple, a cookie, and some old mint or left over candy cane from some farmer who forgot it was Halloween.

Personal Philosophy: Always do the right thing.
