Cooking Class At Booth Library

For those who missed the Pakistani cooking class at C.H. Booth Library in March, Kanwal Sakhi, owner of the catering company, K Cuisine, returns Wednesday, September 14, at 7 pm. Ms Sakhi will offer a special menu featuring main dishes of her native homeland.

Learn the secrets of preparing the Pakistani dish keema, which is minced meats and savory spices served with wheat bread and chutney;  or tantalize your taste buds with the flavor of chicken karahi, made with green chilies and ginger, pea pallaow, a rice and pea dish or the Egyptian lentil recipe, dal masoor.

Ms Sakhi, a Newtown resident for the past three years, will share cooking tips and cultural insight as she presents her array of recipes, all created from the freshest of ingredients.

Participants will partake in a Pakistani feast following the demonstration. Class size is limited, with a supply fee of $10. Further information can be obtained and a place in the class reserved by calling the library at 416-4533.
