Bristol Fiddlers

To Perform In Roxbury

ROXBURY — The Bristol Old Tyme Fiddlers, an eclectic group of musicians who play “old barn-style” square dance tunes, will perform at Minor Memorial Library on Saturday, September 17, at 2 pm. Refreshments will be served following the performance.

Playing a diverse assortment of instruments including fiddle, guitar, piano, banjo, mandolin, button box, spoons, harmonica and more, the group has been charming and entertaining audiences with their “happy music” for more than 34 years. Audiences enjoy hand-clapping and, sometimes, dancing to “Turkey in the Straw,” “Golden Slippers,” “Irish Washerwoman” and similar lively melodies.

The concert is a fundraiser for the library which, out of concern for the safety of the public, is replacing the railing that borders the library patio.  Requested donations are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors.

The library, at 23 South Street, is handicapped-accessible. Call 860-350-2181 for additional information including directions.
