The Connecticut Department of Public Health (CT DPH) Private Well Program will be at the Newtown Farmer’s Market at Fairfield Hills on Protect Your Groundwater Day, September 3, from 2 to 6 pm.

According to Newtown Health District Director Donna Culbert, CT DPH will distribute information on private well testing and maintenance to private well users and will be available to answer private well questions. Private well users can bring photos of their private wells for professional feedback or water test results for interpretation.

Protect Your Groundwater Day (PYGWD) highlights the responsible development, management, and use of groundwater.

PYGWD provides an opportunity for people to learn more about the importance of groundwater, how this important resource impacts our lives, and how to protect it and ourselves.

Visit the CT DPH Private Well Program booth to learn more on September 3.
