Works Of Barnes & Chelminski At West Wind Studio

WASHINGTON DEPOT — Paintings and drawings by Michael Chelminski of Bridgewater and Roger Barnes of Guilford will be on exhibit September 4 through September 26 at West Wind Studio.

 Michael Chelminski received a bachelor of fine art and a master of fine art from Yale University and studied in Paris and India. Throughout his career as an artist he has taught painting and drawing classes at Cooper Union, Indiana University, Western Connecticut State University Fairfield University, The Silvermine Guild of Artists and Wooster Community Art Center.

He has been an active member of the Washington Art Association and serves on its Exhibition Committee. His work has been exhibited in solo and group shows in New York City and throughout the country.

Roger Barnes was born in New York City and studied at the Art Students League of New York, where he was a student of George Grosz, Reginald Marsh and Morris Kantor.

From 1968 to 1978, he taught art at Westover School in Middlebury. He then served as the design director at The Taunton Press in Newtown from 1978 to 1991. He has participated in many one man and group shows throughout the area.

An opening reception will be held on Saturday, September 4, from 3 to 5 pm.

West Wind Studio is at 35 Calhoun Street. Gallery hours are Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm or by appointment. For further information call 860-345-6518.
