Grandparent’s Day At Beardsley Zoo

BRIDGEPORT — Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo will honor grandparents by offering free admission for all senior citizens (ages 62+) accompanied by a paying child (ages 3 and older) on Sunday, September 9.

In addition to free admission, there will be special programs about animal families and crafts for the kids. WICC’s John LaBarca will host his Italian House Party at the zoo from 9 am to 2 pm, featuring fun stories, music and giveaways.

Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo is open year-round and exhibits primarily North and South American animals, including many endangered and threatened species. Highlights include a New World Tropics rainforest, Victorian Carousel, New England Farmyard, pop-up prairie dog exhibit, and Victorian Greenhouse.

The zoo is at 1875 Noble Avenue, and signs are posted from I-95 and the Route 25 Connector. Call the zoo or visit www.BeardsleyZoo.org for detailed information including directions.
