Sunday, September 7 – The Bedford Riding Lanes Association Fall Pace will be held on Sunday, September 7, from 8 am to 12 noon, at the John Jay Homestead State Historic Site on Route 22 in Katonah, New York. Limit is 130 teams. Lunch (12 noon to 2 pm) is included. No post entries. Entries will close on September 2, or when the pace is full. Sunday, October 5 – The Lewisboro Horseman’s Association Fall Country Pace will be held Sunday, October 5, from 8 am to 12 noon, at the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River, New York. Sunday, October 12 – The Greenwich Riding and Trails Association will hold its Fall Pace on Sunday, October 12, 8 am to 12 noon, at the Hughes/Wonham Field in Greenwich. Lunch will be at 12:30 pm and ribbons will be awarded when all riders are in. There will be Hunt, Pleasure, Junior and Western Divisions. Sunday, October 26 – The Newtown Bridle Lands Association will hold its Frost on the Pumpkin Pace on Sunday, October 26, 8 am to 12 noon, at Mount Nebo Road. Sunday, September 7 – The Fairfield County 4-H Committee will hold its Nutmeg Benefit Horse Show on Sunday, September 7, at the Agricultural Extension Center, 67 Stony Hill Road, Bethel. There will be English equitation, western, trail, hunt and advanced rookie divisions. Champions and reserve champions will be named. Year end awards will also be presented. All proceeds from the show will benefit 4-H youth and adult educational programs. Refreshments will be available. Call 1-203-207-8440 for a prize list.

Sunday, September 14 – Brushy Hill Farm in Southbury will hold its third schooling show on Sunday, September 14. Divisions include Micro, Walk/Trot, Short Stirrup, Green Hunter, Low Hunter, Suitable Hunter, Equitation, Adult and Pleasure. The show will be held indoors in the event of inclement weather. Special Events

 

Friday and Saturday, September 5-7 and 12-14 – The original Herrmann’s Royal Lipizzan Stallions of Austria will appear Fridays through Sundays, September 5-7 and 12-14, at the Litchfield Hills Equestrian Centre at 556 South Plains Road in Litchfield. There will be 90-minute shows at 7 pm on each Friday and 2 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets prices for the performances are can be purchased at in advance at Litchfield Hills Equestrian Centre, The Equestrian Centre in Avon and C.L. Adams in Woodbury. Tickets will be $12 in advance ($15 at the gate) for adults; $6 in advance ($8 at the gate) for children ages 6-12; and $10 in advance ($12 at the gate) for senior citizens.
