To the Editor:

Wow… what a day, what a parade, what a town! As we look back on our 55th annual Newtown Labor Day Parade, we reflect on our theme: There's No Place Like Home! A big thank you to our Grand Marshal Dr Bob Grossman. Your many years of service and your varied contributions to our town and the surrounding communities is a true testimony to "Service Above Self."

To our Corporate Sponsors: Title Sponsor Newtown Savings Bank; Platinum Sponsors Ingersoll Automotive, Teamsters Local 1150, and Maplewood of Newtown; Gold Sponsors Rotary Club of Newtown and Radio Stations Kicks 105.5 & i95; Event Sponsors Queen Street Gifts & Treats, Caraluzzi's, Newtown Hardware, Leahy's and Newtown Veterinary Specialists - a heartfelt thank you for your generous donations and your continuing support. And to all our sponsors, supporters, advertisers, and patrons, our deepest appreciation goes out to you. It is through your ongoing generosity, large and small, that we are able to enjoy the success of this time-honored tradition.

Thank you to the volunteers who organize and support the parade throughout the year, as well as on parade day - committee members, emcees, street directors, judges, police department, town workers, The Newtown Bee… you know who you are. We couldn't do it without you.

But most of all, thank you, Newtown, for 55 years of support of the Labor Day Parade. Your smiles, laughter, cheers, and hugs keep us coming back each year. There truly is "no place like home!"

With deepest gratitude,

Beth Caldwell
