After learning that police held warrants for their arrests, a Danbury man and a Sandy Hook woman both went to the police station about 12:10 am on September 6, and were each arrested on charges of first-degree larceny and third-degree burglary in connection with their alleged theft of approximately $50,000 worth of art objects from a Currituck Road residence, police said.

Arrested were Cody Delmedico, 26, of Danbury, and Brooke A. Vazzano, 27, of Sandy Hook. Each person posted $50,000 bail and they were both released from police custody for arraignments on the charges on September 20 in Connecticut Superior Court in Danbury. Both charges are felonies.

Police said they received a complaint about 4:48 pm on June 5, about the theft of art that had occurred while the homeowners had been out of town.

Police said that detectives were able to identify the suspects through their the investigation. Police then sought an arrest warrant from the court, received it, and arrested the pair.

Most of the stolen artwork has been recovered, police said.

Police spokesman Lieutenant Aaron Bahamonde said, “The detectives did an outstanding job putting this case together, including working with the victim to recover the stolen artwork and to obtain confessions from the suspects.”
