To Begin Season Rehearsals

SOUTHBURY — On Monday, September 10, the Connecticut Choral Society (CCS) will begin rehearsing for its 2012-13 concert season.

Rehearsals are at South Britain Congregational Church, 693 South Britain Road (Route 172, at East Flat Hill), starting at 7:30 pm.

Singers of all voice parts are invited, with tenors and basses especially welcomed.

All members must audition. Once an appointment is scheduled, a singer will be asked to arrive prepared with two copies of a prepared solo. A sight-singing component is also included.

Directed by Maestro Eric Knapp, CCS is beginning its 32nd year. The theme of the 2012-13 season is “A Season of Joy.”  The first concert of the fall season will be at the Beacon Theatre in New York City, on November 12; the second concert of the season will be performed Friday, December 7, in Newtown, and Saturday, December 8, in Woodbury.
