Danbury Career Fair September 12

DANBURY — Jobseekers and employers will want to take part in the Connecticut Department of Labor’s first fall career fair taking place September 12 at the Ethan Allen Hotel. 

Running from 11 am to 3 pm, the event, which will be held in the hotel’s ballroom, is co-sponsored by Cumulus Media, the City of Danbury, and the Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board.

“Jobseekers should plan to bring along plenty of résumés and visit with participating companies to talk about what they can bring to a potential employer,” explains State Labor Commissioner Glenn Marshall. “Statistics show that our agency’s career fairs reach more jobseekers than any other employment event in the state.”

Mr Marshall said jobseekers will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from more than 40 employers seeking a variety of candidates, including those in the professional, technical/high tech, administrative or production fields with experience ranging from entry-level to management.

Professional résumé writers from the Connecticut Department of Labor will also be on hand throughout the day to help visitors who would like to have their résumés reviewed and critiqued at no cost.
