Anthony N. DeCarlo, 69, of New Milford, and Venice, Fla., died September 8 in Hartford Hospital after a long, courageous battle with heart disease. He was born in Port Chester, N.Y., on September 14, 1938, a son of Joseph and Carmella (Caggainello) DeCarlo. Mr DeCarlo was the husband of Bunny (Ray) DeCarlo. From 1968 to 2003, Mr DeCarlo was a resident of Newtown and had been a member of the Newtown Jaycees.

Mr DeCarlo served two years in the US Navy and was a graduate of the University of Bridgeport. He was a licensed professional engineer and retired from the Berol Corporation as corporate vice president of engineering. He was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Wayne A. DeCarlo and his wife, Susan, and their daughters, Niki and Ashley of New Fairfield; a daughter, Jodi Traisci and her husband, Matthias, and their daughter, Emily Rose of Brookfield; a sister, Ann Marie Dastoli of Stamford; and his mother-in-law, Agnes Ray of New Milford.

 A Mass of Christian Burial was scheduled to be celebrated in St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown, Friday, September 12, at 11 am. Interment will follow in St Rose Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Carlson Ridge Beautification Committee, 63 Carlson Ridge Road, New Milford CT 06776 will be appreciated.

Funeral Arrangements are in care of the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
