Barbara Hayden Freer

Active With Asbury Ridge Association

Barbara Hayden Freer, 78, of Shelton, died September 7, at her home. Mrs Freer was born in Bridgeport to Lewis Banks Hayden and Mildred Hill Hayden. She was a longtime Trumbull resident before moving to Shelton.

Survivors include five brothers and sisters, Carol Amaral of Newtown, Russell Hayden of Stratford, George Hayden of Shelton, Winnie Clark of Trumbull, Marilyn Natlow of Milford, and Buddy Hayden of Shelton; her son, Fred Freer of Naugatuck; her pet companion, Matty; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald W. Freer; her son, Donald W. Freer, Jr; her sister, Fay Honcharik; and her brother, Lewis (Buddy) Hayden.

Mrs Freer retired from Remington Rand in Bridgeport, and was also employed with Branson in Shelton. She was an active committee member of the Asbury Ridge Association.

Funeral services were held September 11 at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, Trumbull. Interment was in Long Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the animal rescue fund of one’s choice.
