October 5, 1992 to September 18, 2009

Our precious son, Tyler,

has his “Angelversary” this Sunday

13 years since his passing.

It gets harder every year

to fathom the sense of time gone by

and even harder to believe

that our tears will ever dry.

Death’s sadness never leaves.

a permanent hole exists in your heart.

Time passes, seasons change, and

the crisp fall air arrives once again

like it did on the morning of

September 18, 2009.

The sky was a brilliant beautiful blue

without a cloud floating in the air.

The stillness of the event and “time stopping”

gripped our souls and threw us to the ground.

Our hearts attempt to heal

from the devastating, profound loss

but the wound is permanent.

Thank you, Tyler, for teaching us

to be patient, grateful, loving, kind,

and for encouraging us to serve others

in your honor and memory.

We miss you.

Happy 30th Birthday on October 5th
