A Lovely NFA Event

To the Editor,

On Saturday, the Newtown Forest Association once again hosted their Sunset Wine Tasting fundraiser.

There is no better place to await a sunset (and for this year, to glimpse a bright orange harvest moon) than atop the Holcombe Hill Wildlife Preserve. It is, after all, the highest point in Newtown.

The food, wine, and camaraderie of the guests added even more to the lovely evening.

Look around you. All of the trees and fields help make Newtown the place it is, and the Newtown Forest Association plays a huge role in what you see.

They manage 70 preserves totaling over 1000 acres, including the Nettleton Preserve that provides one of the best views of our flagpole. They need our help to continue their work. For more information about the organization and the lands they protect, visit: newtownforestassociation.org/.

I look forward to joining others who love sunsets, forests, and fields at next year’s Sunset Wine Tasting fundraiser.

Thank you,

Deborra Zukowski
