The Sandy Hook Organization for Prosperity (SHOP) will host its annual Rocking The Hook Concert on Saturday, September 30, from 2 to 8 pm, on the Sandy Hook Village Green.

Held on the green overlooking the beautiful Pootatuck River off Glen Road, there will be plenty of music, food, and beverages to enjoy.

Performances this year have been planned for The Dirt Road Pickers, at 2 pm; Traveling Danburys, starting at 4; and Green Eyed Lady, at 6 pm.

Admission is free, but donations toward SHOP’s current project — The Heritage Park & Trail — will be gratefully received.

SHOP Vice President Joe Hemingway says he and others are “excited to host the 2023 Rocking The Hook Concert.

“We have some great bands lined up, plus food trucks and music — it’s going to be a lot of fun so please come down and help us raise funds to complete phase two of the Heritage Park & Heritage project,” Hemingway added.

Event Coordinator Maribeth Hemingway says in addition to the live music, there will be food from Backwoods Dawgs and El Taco Loco “in addition to the fine fare available from several establishments within walking distance”

A Beverage Tent will again be serving beer, wine, and water. Adults can enjoy a variety of beers and wines, including several from Sandy Hook vineyard Aquila’s Nest Vineyard. Bartenders will be serving from 2 pm until last call at 7:30.

SHOP President Mike Burton states: “We are looking forward to Rocking The Hook 2023. Please come to Sandy Hook on September 30th to enjoy the free concert, and family-friendly activities.

“All proceeds from beverage sales will go toward the second phase of the Heritage Park & Trail project. Phase One, the Park is underway,” Burton noted.
