Soft touch is one of several Planetree components at Griffin Hospital that contribute to creating an exceptional patient experience. Participants will be taught to provide patients with a therapeutic, relaxing, and gentle rub.
This âsoft touchâ may be given to the hands, feet, or back, depending upon the patientâs condition and wishes. The training includes both a demonstration of various soft touch techniques as well as opportunity for hands-on practice.
Planetree is a consumer-driven health care organization dedicated to humanizing health care. Griffin Hospital adopted the Planetree model of care in 1992, and Griffin physicians, staff, and volunteers all share the common mission of providing care that encompasses the mind, body, and spirit, and empowering individuals to become active participants in their care and well-being.
Early registration is recommended as class size is limited.
