Criminal Trespassing

Police report they arrested a 17-year-old boy at Newtown High School about 9 am on September 8, charging him with first-degree criminal trespassing.

The youth was spotted in the high school’s cafeteria. Police said the boy, who does not attend Newtown High School, had been told many times that he was prohibited from entering the high school grounds before 3 pm, so he was arrested.

The boy is considered a “youthful offender” under state law and thus his identity is concealed by police and the courts. The youth was released on written promise to appear September 22 in Danbury Youthful Offender Court.

Kozak was charged with misuse of a marker plate and with operating an unregistered vehicle for violations related to the trailer, police said. Also, Kozak received two federal trucking violations because the flatbed trailer he was hauling contained a 4,000-pound earthmoving machine which was insufficiently secured to the trailer and because the trailer lacked an emergency braking device, police said.
