On learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Robert Keeler, 24, of Unit 47, 55 Sugar Street, turned himself over to them at the police station about 6:40 pm on September 19, and was charged with four offenses stemming from a January 2005 motor vehicle accident.
Police charged Keeler with second-degree failure to appear in court, evading responsibility, making an improper turn, and driving with a foreign license beyond 30 days of residence.
After posting $500 bail, police released Keeler for an October 3 court appearance.
Found Key
About 2 pm on September 13, a person found a safety deposit box key in the parking lot of Newtown Deli & Catering at 79 South Main Street, police said. The key was found in a blue envelope without markings.
Police are holding the key for safekeeping. The owner may claim it by contacting Sergeant Darlene Froehlich the police station at 3 Main Street, telephone 426-5841.
