ROCKY HILL â The Connecticut Student Loan Foundation (CSLF), a Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) partner operating in the state of Connecticut for more than 40 years, announced this week that it is in the final stages of eliminating its in-school and repayment student loan servicing. CSLF will focus on FFELP guarantee activities and FFELP and Alternative Student Loan lending.
âIn order to continue to provide the best products to our lenders, schools, and students and the lowest rates on loans possible, we are discontinuing our servicing operation,â said Mark Valenti, president of CSLF. âCSLF has contracted with Edfinancial Services of Knoxville, Tenn., to provide servicing for its Stafford Loans. Edfinancial has been designated an âexceptional performerâ by the US Department of Education as a result of meeting high quality standards. Granite State Management and Resources of Concord, N.H., will service CSLFâs PLUS, Consolidation, and Solutions Alternative Loans,â said Mr Valenti.
CSLF will continue to serve schools and students as a guarantee agency and as a loan originator and lender. Focusing on core functions will allow CSLF to serve its customers at the highest level possible, he added.
