Vote To Support Early Voting

To the Editor:

On the election ballot on November 8th there will be a question regarding early voting. The question will read: “Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to permit the General Assembly to provide for early voting?”

Connecticut is one of only four states that doesn’t allow early voting, including Alabama, Mississippi, and New Hampshire.

Connecticut still requires a registered voter to appear at the polls unless they provide a specific reason why they can’t appear. It is time for Connecticut to make voting as easy as it is for our neighboring states.

This policy change will make it easier for ALL registered voters to participate in the democratic process, including seniors, commuters, parents, disabled, etc.

I urge all voters to vote YES to this question and ensure voters of all parties have the ability to participate in the democratic process.

Respectfully submitted,

Gavin Arneth
