Birding On Block Island

SOUTHBURY — Noted bird photographer Frank Mantlik will present a slide-illustrated lecture entitled “Birding Block Island” at the October 19 meeting of the Western Connecticut Bird Club. The meeting, open to non-members free of charge, will be at Rochambeau Middle School, on Peter Road.

Mr Mantlik has visited the island for over 20 years to see and photograph these migrants. It will be slides from his personal collection that will be shared at the bird club meeting.

Frank Mantlik is widely recognized as one of Connecticut’s outstanding nature photographers and field trip leaders. He is a past president of the Connecticut Ornithological Association and past chairman of the state’s Avian Records Committee.

The meeting will begin at 7:30 pm. For further information call 203/938-9165 or 860/868-7641.
