To the Editor:

When I moved to my condo several years ago I was able to use my downstairs office easily. However, I have recently come to terms with the fact that at my advanced age, having a work space in the lower level is no longer feasible.

Having heard of the Chores Services through the Friends of Newtown Seniors (FONS), I called Beverly Schaedler who heads the group, and inquired about getting help from her. She immediately came to my rescue!

She helped me plan the changes to be made, and then appeared with two volunteers one evening, and they did a remarkable job reorganizing my living space.

My condo is now safer and much more efficient — and suits my needs perfectly.

I wish to thank Beverly for her enthusiastic interest and support, as well as that of her volunteers David and Patrick for a job not only well done, but perfect.

Those of us who are senior citizens are so fortunate to have the FONS organization to call on for so many various services as we attempt to stay in our own homes in this wonderful town of Newtown.
