AAUW President’s Reception

A President’s Reception and a presentation entitled “Provoking Thought: What Colleges Should Do For Students” by Leland Miles, former president of The University of Bridgeport, has been scheduled by the Bridgeport Area Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) on October 16 at 7 pm, at the Trumbull Library on Quality Street in Trumbull.

The reception will include refreshments, displays on programs for the year and stories from the AAUW national convention held this summer in Austin, Tex.

Mr. Miles has recently written a book that he feels will be of interest to all parents of students going to college. He calls college “an adventure in ideas” where learning provokes “open minds, leadership, and curiosity.” His speech will include anecdotes from his own experience.
