Bats To Visit The Kellogg Environmental Center
DERBY â The Kellogg Environmental Center and Naugatuck Valley Audubon Society will host a program on âBat Conservation in Connecticut and North Americaâ at 7:30 pm on Monday, October 15, at Kellogg Environmental Center.
With the help of one or more furry mascots, Geraldine Griswold will debunk many of the popular myths surrounding bats. She will also share many of her stories of bat rehabilitation.
Ms Griswold, a/k/a/ The Bat Lady, is a licensed wildlife rehabilitator for the State of Connecticut. Of the nearly 200 volunteer state wildlife rehabilitators, two work exclusively with bats. Ms Griswold also possesses a special permit to keep unreleasable bats for educational purposes.
Registration is required and a $2 donation is requested. For directions, additional information, and to register, call 203-734-2513 between 9 am and 4:30 pm Tuesday through Saturday. The Kellogg Environmental Center, operated by DEPâs Office of Communications and Education, is at 500 Hawthorne Avenue/Route 34.
