Get Your Absentee Ballots Now And Vote

Any person eligible to vote in the Municipal Election to be held on November 2, and is unable to appear in person for one or more of the reasons set forth below in Connecticut General Statutes Section 9-135, may cast their vote by absentee ballot.

Absentee ballots may be registered by either applying in person, dropping off application in the official ballot drop boxes located outside each entrance to the municipal building or mailing to: Town Clerk, 3 Primrose Street, Newtown CT 06470.

Conditions include:

*COVID-19 — All voters are able to check this box, pursuant to Senate Bill 1202 of the June Special Session 2021;

*Active service in the U.S. armed forces

*Your absence from town during all the hours of voting

*Illness

*Physical disability

*Their religion forbids secular (nonreligious) activity on that day

*Their required performance of duties as a primary, referendum, or election official at a polling place other than your own during all the hours on that day.”

The town clerk’s office will also be available for special absentee voting hours on Saturday, October 30, from 9 am to noon sharp. The office is within Newtown Municipal Center, 3 Primrose Street in the Fairfield Hills campus.

Absentee ballots are available for the November municipal elections. Town Clerk Deb Aurelia Halstead has also announce a special Saturday morning session for absentee voting.
