Fall Festival Of Fun Continues At Discovery Museum

BRIDGEPORT — The Fall Festival of Fun continues at The Discovery Museum in Bridgeport on Monday, October 9, for children in kindergarten through fifth grade with an “Autumn Scarecrows” workshop.

Children can bring in some old clothes and transform them into a truly scary scarecrow. There will be hay and other materials provided to make a unique family Halloween decoration.

Monday, October 9, will be a day off from school for most area school children.

The workshop is from 10 am to noon. Cost is $16 for the general public and $15 for museum members.

The Fall Festival continues on Saturday, October 28, with “Crooked, Crazy and Creepy Halloween Castles” and with the “Mad Scientist.”

In “Halloween Castles,” children in kindergarten through fifth grade will create their own spooky Halloween tabletop castle out of recyclable materials. In the “Mad Scientist,” children in grades three to five will be apprentices to the Museum’s resident mad scientist and learn how to make some interesting, but safe, chemical potions.

The workshops take place from 10 am to noon, on October 28. Cost is $16 for the general public and $15 for museum members.

The monthly public Challenger Mission to Mars on October 28 will be a special haunted edition for Halloween. Children ages 10 and older, as well as adults, can begin training at 10 am for the two-hour mission that takes place after lunch. Space is limited and reservations are needed. Cost is $25.

For more information about the workshops or the Challenger mission, call 203/372-3521.
