NEW MILFORD — Pianist Susan Cheng will be featured in the next Yamaha Salon concert at Connecticut Conservatory of the Performing Arts on Sunday, October 15, at 2 pm.

Seating is limited, so reservations are suggested. Admission is free and open to all ages.

The concert, the second in the series featuring the new pianos from Fry’s Westport-Fairfield Piano & Organ, will include Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in C Major, Beethoven’s Sonata in E Major, Rachmaninov’s Preludes, Op 23, Poulenc’s Three Novelettes, and Chopin’s Ballade in F minor, Op 52.

Ms Cheng, a Taiwanese pianist, grew up in Bangkok, Thailand, and came to the United States for her undergraduate studies. After earning a BA in biology and a bachelors of music in piano from Oberlin College in 1997, she went on to earn her masters of music and a graduate professional diploma in piano performance at Hartt School of Music in Hartford, where she is now a doctoral student.

The Conservatory is at 79 West Street in New Milford; telephone 860/354-2978.
