A Day Of Caring

To the Editor:

The kick-off event for the United Way’s 2001 Campaign was the Day of Caring. It’s when area companies donated their employee’s time to help wherever needed in our seven town area.

The Family Counseling Center located at 57 Mt Pleasant Road was the site of Newtown’s Day of Caring, held on September 13. Fourteen employees from the Newtown Savings Bank were painting rooms, washing windows, cleaning rugs and furniture among other things. With lunchtime approaching, pizzas were ordered.

Without asking, My Place Restaurant graciously donated five large pizzas! You proved again the

 It’s Nicer In Newtown. Thank you.
