ROOKIES

 

RANGERS versus ORIOLES: Jeffrey Grasso, Doug English, Richard Sandler and Ricky Ruot played well for the Rangers.

 

8/9 DIVISION

 

NEWTOWN (#5) 11, NEWTOWN (#3) 8: Nicole Galonczyk belted a two-run single and Steven Clark scored two runs to lead Team #5 to the win. Cody Fisher and Erik Hoffman pitched well as Kyle Packer and Colin Smith made some superb plays. For Team #3, Kyle Kromberg clubbed a three-run homer. Herlof Sorenson pitched a good game as George Delia and Brendan Delohery played well in the field.

 

MAJORS

 

NEWTOWN EAGLES 2, BETHEL 0: Mike Woessner, Joel Minalgo and Max Rochwarger paced the offense as the Eagles blanked Bethel. Matt Cluff and Danny Cartisano were solid in the field as Mike Maher and Chris Basso pitched well.

NEWTOWN BLACK KNIGHTS 4, BETHEL 1: Nick Urson belted a one-out, home in the top of the fifth to help the Black Knights rally from a 1-0 deficit to the win. Jeff Davis, Blake Barreto and David Rodriguez combined for the win. Rodriguez, Barreto and Tucker LaPak all stole home.

NEWTOWN BLACK KNIGHTS 10, NEWTOWN (#12) 6: Nick Urso, David Rodriguez, Will Frampton and David Bray collected two hits apiece to lead the Black Knights to the win. Tucker LaPak and Rodriguez pitched well while Andrew Kirner, Matt Coletti and Travis Hunter were solid in the field.

BETHEL 5, NEWTOWN BLACK KNIGHTS 4: Nick Urso was 2-for-3 and David Rodriguez was 1-for-1 with four stolen bases, but the Black Knights fell to Bethel. Will Frampton, James Pope and Mike Iorfino played well in the field. Blake Barreto, Travis Hunter, Tucker LaPak and Rodriguez shared time on the mound.

BETHEL 5, NEWTOWN BLACK KNIGHTS 4: Will Frampton went 2-for-2 and Nick Urso doubled and scored as the Black Knights dropped another close one. Travis Hunter and James Pope hit the ball hard. Vincent DeAngelo and Andrew Kirner played well in the field.

NEWTOWN BLACK KNIGHTS 10, NEWTOWN (#12) 6: Nick Urso was 3-for-3 with three runs scored and three stolen bases to lead the Black Knights to the win. David Rodriguez and Blake Barreto had two hits apiece. David Bray pitched well while Travis Hunter, Vincent DeAngelis and Mike Iorfino were solid in the field.

13 PREP

 

NEWTOWN RED DEVILS 14, NEW MILFORD 6: TJ Mueller, Ben Striano and Matt Cole led an offense that piled up 14 runs on New Milford. Brad Rochwarger, Brian Duffy and David Modzelewski pitched well while Nick Pollard and Pete Oggeri played well in the field.

NEW MILFORD 11, NEWTOWN GREEN 5: Mike Hennessey rapped three doubles, driving in two runs and scoring two runs, but it wasn’t enough to overcome some Green defensive lapses. Colin Cieniawa made five superb plays at third base while, on themound, Hennesseyy, Bryan Fogelstrom and Alex Dolan pitched well.

NEWTOWN GREEN 11, NEWTOWN RED DEVILS 7: Andrew Chimileski and Rich Temple each went 2-for-3 to lead Green past Red. Alex Dolan and Jim Leebaert rapped out doubles. Bryan Fogelstrom, Seth Hull and Dolan combined on the mound for the win. For Red, Brad Rochwarger not only pitched two shutout innings byt was also 2-for-2 with three runs scored. Bren Striano, TJ Mueller (double) and Peter Oggeri had strong hits. Jon Graham and Nick Pollard made strong defensive plays in the field.
