Experienced, Prepared and Qualified

To the Editor:

Many have asked me what the letters “CCTC” designation after my name mean. After completing more than two years of classroom education, amassing the required amount of town clerk work experience, and passing a mandatory final exam, I earned the designation of certified Connecticut town clerk. I am but a few classroom hours away from the next level of certification, certified municipal clerk.

I was mentored and supported by Newtown’s former town clerk of 20 years, Cindy Simon, who retired in 2007. With almost five years work experience and training in the town clerk’s office, I am the most qualified candidate to continue serving the citizens of Newtown. The governmental offices of the Town of Newtown will be moving this month to the new town hall. This will be a crucial time, not only for the town’s departments and employees, but also for the town’s residents. I am prepared and qualified to make this transition as smooth and efficient as possible for the residents of Newtown.
