Julius Secskas

World War II Veteran

Julius Secskas, 88, of Stratford, beloved husband of Edna Gorman Secskas, died September 24 at Ashlar of Newtown. He was born in Bridgeport to Joseph and Elizabeth Nagy Secskas.

In addition to his devoted wife, six children, including Elizabeth Beatty of Sandy Hook; five grandchildren; a brother; and a sister, survive him.

Mr Secskas was a helicopter mechanic at Sikorsky Aircraft. He was an Army Air Corps veteran, having served during World War II, and was member at the American Legion in Stratford.

He loved the great outdoors and hiking, and playing cards, chess, and cribbage. His eyes would light up whenever he had ice cream. He wanted to explore all 50 states and national parks, and to his delight, was able to visit 48.

Funeral services will be held privately. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center.
