Community Invited To Trauma Stewardship Workshop

Are you grappling with how to keep on keeping on? Struggling with your own reactions and stress? Or maybe you are noticing a collective fatigue, sense of hopelessness or helplessness, feeling like you cannot do enough, or a spike in negativity among your co-workers or community.

If so, Newtown’s Recovery and Resiliency Team (RRT) is inviting residents to a Trauma Stewardship workshop intended for the Newtown/Sandy Hook community, along with anyone who has served or participated in the healing and recovery efforts.

The RRT in collaboration with The Newtown-Sandy Hook Community Foundation is hosting "Transforming Trauma from Suffering to Stewardship" on Friday, October 16, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.

The gathering is intended to bring diverse community members together to address the longterm, personal, and community challenges facing Newtown today.

Ms van Dernoot-Lipsky is the author of Trauma Stewardship: An Everyday Guide to Caring for Self While Caring for Others. She has worked directly with trauma survivors for nearly 30 years, and is known as a pioneer in the field of trauma exposure.

The workshop will be held in the Knights of Columbus Building at St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road.
