Newtown’s Economic and Community Development Office will present the inaugural Newtown Restaurant & Business Appreciation Week from October 16-25. The festivities kick off on Thursday, October 15, 6-9 pm, with “Sip & Savor,” an event that is bringing local eateries together at Newtown Community Center, 8 Simpson Street. Guests will have the opportunity to sample appetizers and cocktails from participating restaurants and vote for their favorites.

Michael Ferreira, founder of itsrestaurantweek.com, said that Newtown Restaurant & Business Appreciation Week is an opportunity to learn about local businesses and restaurants readers may not have already known. Ferreira said, “The Sip & Savor kickoff event brings many of those local businesses together in one place and gives the community a fun way to experience the Newtown scene.”

Participating restaurants include, so far, Boost Bowls, Cosmic Café + Smoothie Bar, Dolce Italian Ice & Gelato, Fusion 25, Gino’s Parlor, Good Old Days Pizzeria & Cocktail Den, Mangia Mia East, Market Place Kitchen & Bar, Marygold’s on Main, Perfusion Bar, Nostrano Italian Eatery, Station 25, Taco Dia, Sal e Pepe Contemporary Italian Bistro, and Two Hounds Public House.

In addition to the participating restaurants and their samples, live music will be provided by On The Road Again, and bourbon tastings will be provided by Litchfield Distillery. A wine and beer cash bar will also be available for attendees.

The event will also feature a raffle with prizes donated by the local businesses, and it will benefit FAITH Food Pantry. Five dollars from each ticket purchased will also be donated to Real Food CT.

John Voket, Economic and Community Development director, said, “There's nothing like a fantastic party to help kick off our Newtown Restaurant & Business Appreciation Week … this is an event not to be missed!"

Tickets are $50 per person and guests must be 21 or older. Tickets can be purchased by going to itsrestaurantweek.com/adventures-experiences/newtown-restaurant-week-2026.
