Celtic Music Coffeehouse

Deirdre and Sean Murtha will headline a Celtic Coffeehouse using myriad instruments to perform songs from their Celtic music heritage on Friday, October 3.

The event will be at Newtown Congregational Church House, 41-A Main Street (Route 25) in Newtown. The performance will run from 7 to 9 pm. Admission is $10 for adults, with children ages 14 and under free of charge.

The Murthas plan to perform a mix of singable songs and songs learned during their travels to Africa, the Caribbean, and other locations around the world. Deirdre is a member of the female a cappella group The Johnson Girls.

Proceeds will benefit Housatonic Valley Waldorf School’s Farm Experience Week.

The church house is the white building behind Newtown Savings Bank. Plenty of parking is available behind the bank and also in the adjacent lot at Edmond Town Hall. Call 860-350-5815 for additional information.
