Four different teams recorded wins as the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association (CJSA) Fall State Cup tournament began last week.

Here are the results –

 

Girls C/D

Shooting Stars 1, Rapids 1 – Meghan Barbour of the Stars and Becky Upnick of the Rapids scored the lone goals. Bridget Naphen and Katy Howell had a great game for the Stars while Courtney Berko, Katlin Marsden and Samantha Dinnan played well for the Rapids.

Girls E

Dynamite 1, Funky Monkeys 1 – Alexander Grant scored on a penalty kick to lead the Dynamite. Michaela Beaudry played great defense and Abbey Keough and Alexandra Fogelberg also played well. For the Funkey Monkeys , Catherine Scott scored as Katie Cummings, Mikaela Mcguire and Alexis Black played well.

Hawks 3, Terminators 1 – Lila Kohrman-Glaser, Celeste Cheung and Jenny Van Veen each scored a goal to lift the Hawks to a 3-1 victory. Katie Shirley, Isabel Gleason and Jillian Thompson played well. Cassie Fallon scored for the Terminators and Justina Paproski played well.

Boys U11

Strikers 7, South Windsor 4 – Kyle Moore notched a hat trick, Dan Lynch scored twice, and Kyle Wildman and Eric Thornberg each scored once to lead the Strikers. Two assists by Nicholas Wright and one by Max Brazo. James Truckle and Tony Vacaro were strong in defense. Ishan Tatake had great saves in the goal and  Patrick Fay played well.

Girls U11

Roadrunners 1, New Milford 1 – A late goal by Lauren Meyer lifted the Roadrunners into a tie. Shannon Paproski and Emma Kingsley led the offense while Kristin Stoller and Kelly O’Conner played well in the midfield. Rebecca Jaroszewski, Alex Israel and Ali Pliszka led the tough defense. Casey Rutter was solid in goal.

Roadrunners 3, Montville 1 (State Cup) – Becca Castegner, Sarah Attanasio and Lauren Meyer scored to lead the Roadrunners to a State Cup win. Ali Pliszka, Rebecca Jaroszewski and Caitlin Brophy anchored a stingy defense as Sarah Murtha and Katie O’Dell played great midfield to set up the offense.

Girls U12

Rampage 6, Hebron 0 (State Cup) – Monica Warek and Sara Kelley scored two goals apiece to lead the Rampage to a State Cup win. Kate Bowen and Taylor Smith also scored as Caleigh Boyle contributed with an assist. Forwards Laura Bittman and Kristen Tanner supplied the offensive pressure and each contributed an assist as well. Midfielders Kirsten Hudock, Susan Mason and Laetitia de Brantes played well at midfield as they controlled the offensive tempo for the Rampage.

Boys U12

Newtown 1, Rocky Hill 0 (State Cup) – Nahba Bropleh scored the lone goal in the second half to lead Newtown to a State Cup win. Matt Iassogna, Andy Lapple, Chris McCann and Daniel Greenwood all put in strong offensive performances for Newtown as Matt Slattery, Kyle Kromberg, Benjamin Miles, Eric Keogler and Danny Clement were strong on D.

Girls U13

Hurricanes 2, Wolcott 0 (State Cup) – Nora Lynn Shimko and Mary Bloshuk scored to lead the Hurricanes to a State Cup win. Tenacious play by Sarah Shannon, Molly Curry and Cara Colacurcio shut down the Wolcott offense. Cassie David and Emily Kluga were strong in net.

Boys U13

Samba TTP

Windsor World Class 4, Samba 3 – Despite an outstanding effort by goalkeeper Max Steinbrick, Samba fell to Windsor. Connor Collier, Jeff Dinicola, and Andrew Meisel all scored goals for Samba.
