Marlene  Himmelfarb

Marlene (Putterman) Himmelfarb of Brookside Road, Newington, wife of Charles Himmelfarb, died September 24. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Thelma (Goodwin) Putterman.

Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, Steven Himmelfarb and his wife, Jacqueline, of Newtown, William Himmelfarb of Rocky Hill, and Burt Himmelfarb and his wife, Christine, of Rocky Hill; a brother, Harvey G. Putterman of Port Townsend, Wash.; and a granddaughter, Jenna.

Mrs Himmelfarb was a graduate of Russell Sage College and graduated from Columbia University as a dental hygienist. She had been active in the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. She was a member of Temple Sinai, Newington, and a life member of Hadassah.
