Thomas J. Malone

Thomas J. Malone, age 79, husband of Margaret (Walsh) Malone, of Taunton Lake Drive, Newtown, died unexpectedly September 28 at his home.

Mr Malone was born in New York City, March 13, 1924, a son of the late Patrick and Anne (Waters) Malone. He was a 1949 graduate of Columbia College, with a degree in electrical engineering. He earned a master’s degree from New York University.

Mr Malone was a World War II army veteran, serving in both the Pacific and European theaters. He was a longtime resident of Old Bethpage, Long Island, and was employed by the Eaton Corporation in Deer Park, Long Island, until his retirement. He had been a resident of Newtown for ten years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Geraldine Walsh of New Canaan; Claire Zisek of Redding; Laura Creps of Ridgefield; and Peggy deMayo of New Canaan; two brothers, Robert Malone of Dallas, Texas; and William Malone of Levittown, N.Y.; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held October 1 at the Honan Funeral Home, 48 Main Street, Newtown, and at St Rose of Lima Church, for a Mass of Christian Burial.

Interment was in Long Island National Cemetery, Pinelawn, Long Island, N.Y.
