Understanding College Funding

On Tuesday, October 9, at 7 pm, in the main auditorium at Newtown High School, the Guidance Department at NHS will be hosting a program on understanding college-funding options.

Parents of elementary, middle, and high school students are invited to attend in order to learn the following:

*Ways to maximize your financial aid eligibility;

*How you may be able to save for college tax deferred or tax free, and other opportunities created by the new tax law;

*How to best use low interest government loans;

*Creative strategies for funding college costs;

*The four primary sources of college funding, and,

*College investment strategies and current market outlook.

The seminar will be conducted by Charles Wareham, LPL, financial officer of Wareham and Associates, Hartford.

This is not a sales presentation, the Guidance Department emphasized, but “a high value information session for all parents regardless of the age of your children.”
