Philomena      Gribosky

Philomena Gribosky, 92, of Norwalk, wife of the late Stephen J. Gribosky, died peacefully at her home, September 30. She was born in Cervinara, Avellino, Italy, May 14, 1920, daughter of Pasquale and Maria Letizia Borreca Buccieri.

She immigrated with her family to the United States in 1921 and was a graduate of Norwalk High School, Class of 1938.

Survivors include two sons, Stephen J. Gribosky, Jr, and his wife Barbara, of Sandy Hook and Philip S. Gribosky of Norwalk. Also surviving is a brother, Domenick Buccieri; sisters-in-law Barbara Capuano and Gloria Buccieri; brother-in-law John Gribosky; and many nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Frank, Joseph, and Anthony, predeceased her.

Mrs Gribosky worked with her husband for many years in his upholstery shop.

She was a longtime member of St Mary Church in Norwalk and a devoted fan of UConn Women’s Basketball.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated October 4, with burial at St John Cemetery, Norwalk.
