Mary Lou (Frizzell) Stuart, 82, of Bridgewater, wife of Donald Edward Stuart, died peacefully October 2. She was born in New Milford, May 20, 1933, and was a daughter of the late Dorothy and Joseph Frizzell.

In addition to her husband of 65 years, her loving children, Michael of Newtown, James, and his wife Lisa, of Warren, Donald, and his wife Jaye, of Washington, and her son-in-law James Galbraith of New Milford; 12 grandchildren, James Galbraith, Jr, John Stuart, Jill Douskey, Kelli Stuart, Jodi Galbraith, Chris Stuart, Tim Stuart, MacKenzie Stuart, Meredith Stuart, Travor Stuart, Julie Scott, and Kaitlyn Stuart; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews survive Mrs Stuart. Besides her parents, her beloved daughter, Janis Ann Galbraith, and her sisters, Dorothy Waltz, Marjorie Waltz, and Janis Krawiecki, predeceased her.

Mrs Stuart’s greatest joy was her family — her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Some of her favorite pastimes were shopping and entertaining her wide circle of friends. She also enjoyed cooking and canning the fresh vegetables grown in their extensive garden. Mrs Stuart was also a member of the Women’s Auxiliary for the Bridgewater Fire Department, where she dedicated many years to events such as flower shows and the Bridgewater Fair.

The family takes comfort in knowing that she will now be reunited with several dear family members and friends, especially her daughter Janis Ann.

Memorials may be made to the Bridgewater Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary, Main Street, Bridgewater CT 06752; or to the Regional Hospice Center of Danbury, 30 Milestone Road, Danbury CT 06810 or at www.regionalhospicect.org.
