Anthony R. Giaquinto

Loved By All Who

Knew Him

Anthony R. Giaquinto, 77, of Newtown, beloved husband of Helen Ismailoff Giaquinto, died September 29. Born in Bridgeport, Mr Giaquinto was a longtime resident of Stratford.

In addition to Helen, his devoted wife of 54 years, Mr Giaquinto is survived by his children and their spouses, Anthony and Karen Giaquinto of Stratford, Nicholas and Barbara Giaquinto of Stratford, Michael and Robin Giaquinto of Shelton, and Alesandra and Angelo Fishetti of Monroe; nine grandchildren, Anthony, Paul, Amanda, Melissa, Julia, Angelo, Dana, Annie, and Patrick; a brother, Albert Buday and his wife, Eleanor; a sister, Margaret “Pinky” McCarthy; an uncle, Joseph Giaquinto of Bridgeport; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Alesandro Giaquinto and Louise Giaquinto Buday, and his stepfather, Dr Albert Buday.

He was a veteran of the Korean War. After 30 years of dedicated service as an inspector, he retired from AVCO Lycoming, Stratford. Mr Giaquinto spent countless hours attending sporting events involving his children and grandchildren. He was their number one fan. He was a lover of great music and shared his passion with those around him. His keen wit and sense of humor were his signature. He was loved by all who knew him.

Funeral services took place October 3 from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and in St Stephen Church, Trumbull, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment followed in Monroe Center Cemetery, Monroe.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Nicholas Giaquinto Scholarship Fund, in memory of Anthony’s cousin, former track coach at Central High School, through the funeral home.
