Genealogy Club

Program, Oct. 12

Professional researcher Jolene Mullen will be the featured speaker at the Genealogy Club of Newtown meeting on Wednesday, October 12, starting at 7 pm. She will explain how to research ancestors and family life by examining the records of town meetings in Connecticut during the Revolutionary War period, 1775–1783.

Ms Mullen, a member of the Connecticut Professional Genealogists Council and the Association of Professional Genealogists, specializes in lineage research for heritage societies. She has served as the state registrar for Connecticut Daughters of the American Colonists and Connecticut Colonial Dames of the Seventeenth Century. Her two-volume book, Connecticut’s Town Meeting Records During the American Revolution, was recently published by Heritage Books.

The Genealogy Club of Newtown meets in the community room of C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street. Visitors and new members are always welcome. For more information about this free program or about the club, call Harlan Jessup at 203-270-7887.
