At Peace With The Lord

Helen Elizabeth Shadle, 98, died September 27, at Bridgeport Hospital.

Two children, Sandra Marsilius, and her husband Newman, of Newtown and Jack Shadle, and his wife Margo, of Louisville, Ky.; a sister; five grandchildren and their spouses; ten great-grandchildren; and a niece and nephew survive Mrs Shadle. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Laurence Shadle; and two siblings.

Mrs Shadle loved to be with her family members, especially at holiday times when she would cook a variety of favorite dishes, especially desserts. Her favorite activity was playing bridge with her friends and neighbors in Oronoque, Maine. She was a strong and independent woman as evidenced by her living independently in her condominium, and up until her last years, continuing to visit and vacation with relatives in California, Ohio, and Florida.

 Her memorial service will be in Toledo, Ohio, her birthplace, with internment at the Whitehouse Cemetery, next to her husband Laurence. In attendance will be her immediate family members.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to her beloved church, Trumbull Congregational Church, 3115 Reservoir Avenue, Trumbull CT 06611, where she had been a faithful member for many years.
