NHS Field Hockey Team Competes

Newtown High School’s field hockey team lost 1-0 to New Milford at Treadwell Park on September 30. The Nighthawks were scheduled to host Weston on Wednesday (after The Bee sports section went to press). The Nighthawks have suffered a trio of one-goal losses, including an overtime setback, early on this fall and carried a 1-3-1-1 record into the middle of the week.

Newtown will go to Monroe to visit Masuk on Friday, October 7 for a 4 pm game before returning home for back-to-back games, against non-conference opponent Haddam-Killingworth on Tuesday, October 11 and South-West Conference rival Bethel on October 12. The Haddam-Killingworth game will be held at Treadwell Park at 3:45 pm and the Bethel game is scheduled to take place under the lights at Blue & Gold Stadium at 7 pm.
