Working Women’s Forum Making Wishes Come True

The Working Women’s Forum was pleased to have Linda Malavet, shelter manager for Elizabeth House, at its previous meeting. Elizabeth House is the 13-bed emergency shelter home in Danbury that offers refuge to women and children who must flee from extreme violence in their home. 

During their stay in this safe house, residents receive counseling and assistance with rebuilding their lives and plan a violence-free future.

The members of the Working Women’s Forum have since announced their plans to assist the shelter by donating their resources, time, and talents to enhance the home in time for the holidays.  

Working Women’s Forum meets the second Wednesday of every month in Sandy Hook at 6 pm at the Villa Restaurant, 4 Riverside Road.  Members and guests are encouraged to meet and grow professionally and personally, through education, networking, and sharing ideas and experiences. 

The next meeting will be held Wednesday, October 12, and women attending will learn of further opportunities to chip away at the “wish list” for Elizabeth House. To learn more, visit www.workingwomensforum.net.
