Halloween is not just about costumes and candy; it is also the time of year to get your family vaccinated against the flu. To prepare for this yearâs cold and flu season, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone 6 months and older should get a flu vaccine.
Danbury Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) will host a Say âBooâ to the Flu clinic at Newtown Middle School, 11 Queen Street, on Saturday, October 16, from 10 am to 1 pm. The clinic is open to all children and families.Â
This seasonâs annual flu vaccine will protect against the H1N1 virus and two other viruses that cause the flu.
At the Say âBoo!â to the Flu event, nurses from the Danbury VNA will administer seasonal flu vaccinations, while also providing parents with important flu prevention information.Â
To minimize wait time, participants are encouraged to make an appointment online by visiting the Danbury VNAâs website at www.danburyvna.org or by calling the flu hotline at 203-730-5239.
