To the Editor:

In Ridgefield, Bethel, Newtown, and Redding, judge of probate is on the ballot. I'll vote for Sharon Wicks Dornfeld.

A graduate of the Michigan School of Law, she has more than 30 years practice in Connecticut courts. A trained mediator, Ms Dornfeld exhibits compassion for children and the elderly … helping them in a confusing legal landscape.

Ms Dornfeld was a founding force of the Ridgefield A Better Chance program (for students from inner cities to attend Ridgefield high). She and her husband, Bill, serve the Appalachian Service Project (fundraising and spending a week in disadvantaged regions repairing homes and lives).

She has devoted her life to helping people. She has a brilliant mind for meeting a need, for doing kindnesses.

Moved by that good, I am voting for Sharon Wicks Dornfeld. And for the further good she will do as judge of probate.
