Robert Edmond Dion, 67, of Lady Lake, Fla., died unexpectedly on October 8. He was born March 30, 1940, in Webster, Mass., to Janet (Brogan) and Edmond Dion. Mr Dion was a resident of Brookfield for 17 years prior to retiring to Florida ten years ago.
He is survived by his five children and their spouses, Robert and Jennifer Dion of Newtown, Keith and Michelle Dion of Brookfield, Kevin Dion of Rocky Hill, Jennifer and John Wood of Casper, Wyo., and Leanne and Tom Furlong of Torrington; 15 grandchildren, Emily and Samantha Dion, Taylor, Madison, and Maren Dion, Kevin, Cody, Kyle, and Megan Dion, Steven and Brittany Robbins, Shannon and John Wood, and Ashley and Amber McCarty. He was predeceased by is loving wife of 32 years, Constance (Kaczynski) Dion.
Mr Dion attended the University of Massachusetts where he earned his masterâs degree in teaching. He taught at Norwalk High School from 1960 to 1969 and Staples High School from 1968 to 1995.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Sunday, October 14, at Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road. Burial will be on Monday, October 15, at 11 am, at St Peterâs Cemetery in Danbury, 73 Lake Avenue Extension.
