Two More Weeks For Farmers' Market
Two More Weeks For Farmersâ Market
The Sandy Hook Organic Farmersâ Market has expanded its season to include the next two weeks, Tuesday, October 16, and Tuesday, October 23. The long, warm, early fall weather has found local farmers with extra crops, said market organizer Mary Fellows, and vendors all agreed it would be a shame to not give the public access to the incredible produce still being harvested.
âThis yearâs farmersâ market has been a wonderful ride,â said Ms Fellows. âWe still have so much great stuff.â
Buyers will find plenty of late season tomatoes right alongside the apples, greens, squashes, pumpkins, maple syrup, and honey. Artisanal breads, baked goodies, olive oil, and fresh eggs are some of the other organic treats shoppers will be able to pick up at the market the following two Tuesdays between 9 am and 1 pm. Look for local crafters, as well, for some early holiday shopping, said Ms Fellows.
